hi! i am sorry for sucking at keeping up on the ol blogger-roo. i have been keeping busy with a brand new job, learning new things and meeting new friends!

Alas!!! I AM BACK..... AS A BUFFALO.

This reminds me.... have you ever seen the flick buffalo 66'? I want to jump through the screen, scoop up vincent gallo and keep him for life.

but, i digress.... i really love this shirt because of the asymmetrical hem (cheap monday $89). A new styling secret of mine has been to wear bike shorts (h&m $10) under sheer spring dresses (or long shirt dresses), with the added bonus of not flashing the world my skivvies when the pervy wind gets gusty. They seem to replace my grandma moses "slip" (footnote: grandma moses is an endearing nickname I acquired from a dear friend who thinks slips are only for women who live in the stone age).

ALSO! I got this minkpink boyfriend cheetah cardi ($86, shopnastygal.com) and my spectator Bass loafers ($27!!!!) and have not been able to take them off. My co-workers are getting so sick of seeing both (mainly the cardi), asking me daily when Im going back to new york to collect my clothes, to finally change outfits.

p.s. i just love the lighting of these photo (sunset lighting casts such a lovely glow on the ol dirty d!).

okay, i have no clue what this shirt says, but i love it (air my ear pass tu?)! my theory is its a drunken tiger trying to sing an awesome hole or smashing pumpkins song... no more vodka big cat. anywho, it's not only a fave because it has a giant mama spoinky cat on it (see post below), but because the color is like a burst of watermelon, plus the crop top looks amazing with high waisted cuts!

p.s. dont peep at my toe nails, they are really long, sorta how i imagine rumplestilskin's toes looking when his manicure is insanley overdue. EW. i even gross myself out. sorry friends.

p.s.s. im still awk at the whole the fashion blog attempting to model thing... weirdo!

yup. it's true. i am totally obsessed with my spoinky cat (thats her name, see her full into from my blog intro here). I was inspired to dress like her because she is so chic. So I did some black and white! This photo shoot was all cramped into the tub (tres chic, no?) because my kitten is too fragile to go outside (and her mom is a helicopter parent).

eee! Trendy, bright colors make spring feel a bit more exciting! I was already panting like a dog and sweating today, it got to 91 degrees here. I shouldn't complain because I'm sure it's still cold somewhere in the midwest or the east, but EW! Hot already? It's not just the weather thats hot, it was also my bum. These shorts with the mini pleats, (yes they are shorts, I think they are called culottes), gave me a serious wedgie getting out of the car because they were sticking to me due to the hot, hot car seat. I even flashed a bit of my ass cheeks and my manly boy shorts (no, for real they look like boys briefs).

Loving these knock of chloe sevigny x oc clogs from forever21! I feel 20 feet tall, and "nothing but legs" (thats what my mom said to me!).

I decided to do the pattern clash trend from last season, mixing a bright spring rose printed tunic with a 70s vibe. My Ecote "flatform" (word coined by this Glamour.com article) wedges and high-cut hot pants let the world know the 70s are alive and kicking. I'd like to think this look is disco fever meets boho-chic. For the final touches I added a riff of berry toned lipstick to capture that dancin' disco vibe, alla Marc Jacobs s/s 2011 runway, a bohemian messy braid, and all complemented by my flying pig and oversized betsey johnson cocktail statement rings.

p.s. please excuse my poor nail polish job, I got the o.p.i crackle finish and have yet to master it's effect. Stay tuned for a close up...

Even now and again, I get this creeping sensation that I need to reinvent myself in some way. It's like the expected seasonal flu that occurs every fall, except this is a girls calling to switch up her physical appearance. Now the reason for this reinvention can be complicated, like a new job, a break up, body image/weight issues or a life crisis. Most the time however, I just simply am bored with myself and my looks.
This year, after wresting with the winter weight gain, I decided it was time to hunt for the perfect lipstick to accentuate my beautiful face, distracting form my winter love handles. In my mind, I wanted to be like a silver screen starlet, like Greta Garbo wearing a bold, red lip color. I ventured over to the mecca of cosmetics, NYC Union Square Sephora, and played around for what felt like a few minutes, but turned out to be hours. After an exhausting cosmetic journey, and plenty of make up remover, I spotted the perfect lip color: the brand was Tarte's and the colors name was "Lively" . Honestly, it was love at first sight, and if you have ever felt this way about a lipstick, you know you need to have no matter the cost. Gulp, I got ahead of myself and the price tag was the cost of about three slices of Artichoke pizza. I knew I needed it, and at about $25 dollars for an image reinvention, I felt like it was a bargain! So I purchased it and now, the "new" me tries to be lively, just like the name of the color.

I found an amazing color:

The blush is this hot pink NARS blush, called:Desire! It looks amazing and the bold lipstick is Tarte's lively (I think its my new signature color)

On a budgeted journey for shoes to wear to Isabele's wedding, I stopped at Filene's basement and found a pair of fantastic cork wedge heels. These babies are so light and the platform makes you feel like you are walking on air. So naturally, at $41.00, I had to purchase them to go with my thrifted dress since I was on a very tight budget. I promised myself that I would only spend $50 max on all the items for the wedding. I was pretty close and the financial break down is as follows:

$10 Earrings, Nordstrom Rack
$6.50, Slip, Filene's Basement
$1.25 Clearance Boy Short Undies, Filene's Basment
$41.00 Jessica Simpson Wedge heels (pictured above), Filene's Basement
$20 Vintage Butterfly Detailed Dress, my favorite thrift store (a NY gem, that took me 2.5 years to find and will remain anonymous as to not stimulate girls flocking there to find all the goodies!)

Total: $78.75 only $28.00 off of Budget. I'm really terrible at budget and clearance shopping, my best friend Lacie will confirm this. My idea of a "sale" is a $1,000 leather jacket for $650. High off of my successful shopping trip, I decided to stop and take a gander at DSW's 50% Luxury sale. This is where I spiraled out of control. I found these amazing Sergio Rossi purple shoes with a cutout on the side for $219.00 (with tax) and I bought them. Breaking the budget by $247.75, my budget shopping trip was now a failure.... but in whose eyes? I walked away with these heels without which I could not live. If you love fashion like I do, you would have done the same thing! I guess I am a bargain shopper: a frugal luxury, expert!

Currently, I am deeply inspired by Spike Jonez's short movie, "I'm Here" (see post below). One sleepless night, I decided that I wanted to get back to one of my main talents: sketching. Well, as they say, there is no time like the present! After countless scribbles and china marker smears, I created a croquis of a pretty robot! Gazing sleepily at my master piece, complete and beautiful, I have decided to continue with this idea as a theme. Only one problem, the croquis is more entertaining than the designs.

I just finished watching, "I'm Here". Perhaps the most moving, amazing short film of 2010 by Spike Jonze. Although only 30 minutes long, the movie captured and explored the beauty of devoted, selfless first love. The cinematography is simply brilliant, warm, and charming. You must see this movie.

this is my favorite cocktail ring. i wear almost everyday with any outfit. I got it from Nordstrom rack for $35, betsey johnson. this little mouse holds a special place in my heart... squeak! Also this is a little coin purse i bought in rovinj croatia when i went back packing in the summer of 2008.

this is my new addition to the cocktail ring family. It literally is a giant disco ball! Forever 21 ($5.80) Obsessed. Perfect for drinking coffee & tapping away at my ipad to get attention.

I had these amazing sunglasses that I loved, and then... the arm of the glasses broke off... and is now lost at the center of the earth (where I am convinced all important things that we loose go ie. bobbi pins, hair ties, socks, one shoe, fave undies, etc.)

there was a vertically challenged man that dressed as a leprecon on good ol' st pattys day at the bar.... so naturally being me.... i ran up to him and was like "wow i love your velvet green suit- is this custom made?" he said yes... and i kept asking him questions.. naturally, about his penny loafers and why they didnt have pennys in them... well he pushed me aside and started to ignore me because he had hungry eyes and wanted to talk to my sister (he literally shoved me aside)! when i have events by myself or (preferably) with lacie--- we always play a game where we plan head to toe what we are going to wear. I prefer to play this game when its me and lacie being crazy and just going to some random place in spoke. Like when we did beer pong and had head to toe matching hooker/ghetto inspired outfits (complete with large gold hoop earrings and knee high white boots-these we got for out senior year fanta Halloween costumes)- we used Nancy Regan's 80's slogan "dress for success" ever time we felt crazy or weird or just to cheers and drink! But I digress, sometimes this game is more necessary than others- interviews, seeing good looking boys, or other important events. Other times im just lazy (by default, of course) that it is incredibly hard to think and get ready at the same time.

This was particularly true this last Saturday when I had a basketball game watch to go to (gonzaga basketball is big)... I just couldn't think of what to wear. So i call lacie.... no answer.... so i text her- she says lets Gmail chat. And since she was at work we had to do old school aim type of chat and I had to send her pics of the outfits I was thinking of. The first was boring and I wasnt too sure about it.... here is the sequence of pictures (alla mac photobooth of course):

The bottom line: what the hell would i do without lacie (probably wouldnt be as amazingly dressed). She just gets me. And she enjoys playing the game just as much as I do. LACIE I LOVE YOU!

working on this accessory nearly cost me my fingers. Fist the sewing machine went straight into my nail... and this isn't an ordinary grandma sewing machine- its a heavy duty industrial machine that can sew through layers of thick fabric.... and that's what it did... sew through layers of thick skin....

then when hand sewing on the number plates i didn't realize that i had pricked my finger multiple times.... and blood was oozing all over this tiny wallet. ew.

this semester has been a lot of work. it all started with this whole idea of sustainability- and then each class was assigned different aspects of designing a sustainable garment. This was a challenge because these were the garments we would be making (as students for the last time before the real world) for our finals and for midseason preview would have to be made from 100% sustainable fabric, trash, or old garments reconstructed. Welp--- let me tell you how much money i spent on buying vintage garments tearing them up and reconstructing them to something new(lots)... all to hate what i had made.

Then I finally found a design concept to stick to and it looks like this:

deconstruction began with a wedding dress, and the slip underneath to make this amazing corset that is see through all around except two panels in the front. The skirt was to be asymmetrical with one side longer than the other and the over jacket made of chiffon. All of the items were to have recycled snaps and vintage charms (sticking to sustainable) sewn as embellishments.

so i went to vegas for Halloween-because spending halloween alone (my favorite holiday) would be like spending christmas alone.

we drank at our friends house, and while in the process of getting really drunk off of spooky mimosas (i put a gelly eye candies in them to float) me and jessica decided that since i had a snoopy purse (cant see it in any of the pics) that I needed the charlie brown bird on my costume too. So drunk- we ran upstairs... got to the top with the computer (the whole time the girls are trying to get us to go out) and we found out his name was woodstock, and printed a ghetto pic from the net and i clipped it onto my shirt with an office paper clip.... hhahahah.

later on i refused to be a hooker for halloween (thats meant for my skanky college days). But my friends were concerned about my shoes, and how I might not be able to get into the clubs.

I had an idea-thanks to my fav. sis, she put heels into her purse and so I could change into them only if i got stopped.

But what do you know, i got into the club, grandma impostor keds and all. I actually felt really good too, especially because I took a stand- and wasnt a slu.

the next night I decided to be gothic. since I have always been a blondie- i wanted to try a darker side. And i loved it, so much- that I am considering dyeing my hair....

i think... i may have found it. well actually my friend Richard found it in the cluster of tees at a lower east side vintage store... and it is perfect... its worn in. comfy. feels like my second skin. its a black tee that i dont expect you to understand. but know i love it. unlike my gucci purse or my chanel boots... my t-shirt has no label and no one else can spot where it was bought..... but to its owner- this t-shirt is irreplaceable.

best of all me and r.t. (Richard) made a story up of why this perfect t would be in a thrift store. the answer.... a great friendship that went horribly wrong... the split ending in the selling of the "friendship t"

i think the t-shirt is a fashion statement that most have yet to perfect. it takes the right girl to make a t-shirt sexy.

My best friend lacie graf was getting married to jeremy hansen a few weekends ago. She had this to- die- for- dress. I mean it was bridal couture worthy. SO, lacie, just being lacie, stepped down one small step in our hotel room.... tripped... and broke the flower strap on her dress. I ABOUT DIED.... TWICE. of course she just screamed "just my luck"

we had to doing a "showing" of her in her dress in the lobby for some family and friends. I promised that i would fix her dress because i was a professional seamstress now...... all i needed was a needle

well.... I was put on the spot. Her entire family/friends/passer byers were watching me attempt to sew this dress. and let me tell you this thing fit like a G.L.O.V.E. so it was so hard to sew while on her body. I got the needle and began... with so much pressure around me... every was whispering (she goes to parsons in new york... shes a fashion designer). I was sweating- so much. Then i did the unspeakable.... i dropped the flimsy needle into her dress.... and it was lost- impossible to find like a needle in a hay stack. I died.... a third time.

Then I got another needle... finished the job- got a huge hug from lacie... and comments that she was so lucky I was her friend/bridesmaid.

I said a prayer to god "please let the strap last the entire wedding... and the reception".

well it did.... but what do you know her other strap broke right at the end... (not the one i sewed)

thank you god....!!! (errr... maybe my sewing teacher mary gottlib) i owe you big time..

update: me new hair

So I am getting sick of how I look. I go through this once every few months..... I bought new make up. Still not happy. Tried my old clothes on in different ways- happy, but not a new look. SO I decided, since I have the short sassy hair thing, and I loved it (but am a little over it)-

IT IS THE HAIR THAT MUST CHANGE!

I thought about dyeing it all pink- but i have L&Js wedding in July, and that's just not classy.

SO, I have to admit i got inspired by my BFFF LACIE (yes ill give you the credit)- and I decided on it- I AM GETTING HAIR EXTENSIONS..... i googled frantically online to find a place that would do my hair in new york that wasn't a million dollars.... no place in Willamsburg does extensions--- well some do, but I never did a walk in.

I called my hair salon, Mud-honey on Bond, and asked where I could get my hair done? She said they have a sister Mud-honey store on Kenmare THAT DOES THEM!

got my consultation- not one million (a little less, ok ok- a kings ransom------ BUT SO WORTH IT!)

so next time you see me--- if you do soon- ill have long luscious hair!!! maybe ill look like this again:

ok...ok... ok.

so I know that I consider myself an open minded...bohemian, sorta neo hippie person.. but I just learned (from the story that will follow) that it may be a lie..... and that I am really a scared little baby girl pansy.

last night the dog across the hall would not stop barking. I got so mad that I- looked out the peep hole of my apartment and saw something in the hall....(not the bravest thing to do)

what i saw was young man- bum- transient in my hall with his loose dog and giant (Europe style) backpack. OK, this really freaked me out. I guess its because I live alone... and I guess it is because I am a woman- and I feel unsafe (almost always)

I freaked out and wanted to do something... so i did. I CALLED MY MOM. But i didn't want to do it in my living room in case the bum heard me......... so I crept into my bathroom and closed the door, then called my mom from there. Of course my mom said not to worry and to call the cops if there was a problem... but there wasn't. I am just a pansy...... and then I hung up the phone and crept back to my front door to peek out that little swivel hole to see what (fish eye distortion because of the lense) was on the outside of my safe apartment.... but there was nothing. and still I could not sleep that night.

and it finally hit me like a ton of bricks. I should be open minded and be ok with this guy in the hall. He isnt hurting anyone (right?). but im not ok. and maybe im not that open minded. i was scared.....I AM A BABY.

My couch arrived yesterday- I was so excited- until i realized how much work it was going to be to assemble. I started to pull out the pieces and put the screws in... when i realized:

" i do not own the tools to put this thing together".

I got a little sad, then mad at myself for being such a typical girl (why cant i be a buff and burly person who owns a tool box). I looked at the pieces every chance I got that afternoon (with hope that it has magically pieced itself together).

I thought about buying some new tools (and then felt sick about this idea). I called my mom to tell her my couch had arrived- but I was useless and could not put it together. She then explained that the tools to screw the screws in should be in the package- they were little bars that would tighten the hexagon top screws. SHE WAS RIGHT- and i felt so stupid.

"Oh there they are! Mom you are a genius"

I spent all yesterday assembling the couch (it said it takes two people- ha! I did it by my girly self).

Now, it is my favorite thing in the world---- as of this week. I have to say it was really hard putting it together.. and to think: it said it takes two people to do it! But just a reminder: I put this couch together by myself. Thats right- all by myself!

I felt really proud after i go it all put together and fell asleep on it last night. The cushions are a little hard- but its my first couch.. AND I OWN IT! and i love it. very, very, very much.

the one touristy thing i didnt mind doing when lacie came to visit was the glorious... CONEY ISLAND!

it was just as i expected... freaks on the board walk....carnis...... carnival food all around..... and the cyclone calling my name.

when i saw the cyclone first thing i did was squeal!!!! I took lacie by the arm and dragged her there (she wanted to go too... but i just like the idea of me dragging 100 pound lacie)

when walking there we read on the board walk that the cyclone was built in 1929.. this wooden beauty was only $8.oo a ride. I had the exact change in my purse (it was m destiny to ride this baby because i never have cash on me) (**ps coney island is one of the annoying places in NY that only takes cash)

and it was so much fun! it made my tummy drop... and i felt my butt lift from the seat...

the only problem.... lacies bony shoulder somehow weaseled its way into my rib cage and nearly killed me....

so i can finally breath! I am done with my finals and I have an apartment to rest my head!

finals: I made the most amazing dress ever!!! It is so cute- ill have to post pictures when I get the time to take them.....

apartment: I live in the most amazing apartment(I will I will take pictures once cleaned and decorated).... ok ok- so new yorks apartments will never be perfect- they will always have flaws... but this one is as close to perfect as I could get.

I live in brooklyn on bedford ave- its a great area (mostly hipsters)

i can fall into the train (the L train!!!) from my apartment- it takes me 20 min. to get to union square

i live above vera cruz- the best Mexican restaurant in the entire area of new york (so far that i have eaten at)

i am 5 min walk (no exaggerating) to great bars, shopping, and other stuff you love to have out your door..

i love it.... now if only i had some free time to sit and enjoy living!

I need to be moved out of my apartment by May 19th.

Now here is the problem- may 19th is right in the middle of the month. so i am either out by may 1st... or just cruising along until may 19th..

new yorkers have a very odd way of moving... everything here is super last minute. You cant start to even look for a new apartment until a few days before you move... because they get snatched up. Also if you like something and your move in date is in a few weeks, they wont even consider you a candidate for the apartment.

So I decided I wanted to move to Brooklyn, be right on the L line and live happily ever after. But god knows this is harder than it sounds. Seeing that willamsburg/greenpoint are really sought after neighborhoods... it was impossible to find an apt that was under 1,600 a month. Yes kids- that's one thousand and six hundred dollars a month. Not a few months... but one single month.....

its insane what new yorkers will pay for an apartment... and i am getting suckered into it- here's why:

i finally broke down and called an apartment broker, because

1. Craig's list has so many apartment listings (enough to make me pull my hair out), and 2. because finals are right now, and with the combo of everything (work, finals, more finals) it is really hard to find time to run around Manhattan and Brooklyn.

this is what I was showed:

1. $1,300 shack... in the ghetto.... where I would live alone... and prolly get eaten alive by a horse sized rat.

2. beautiful apartment... two problems- a. ground floor- scary for a single girl... i do not want someone to break in and sick their horse sized pet rat on me while they steal my sewing machine and 50 yards of shitty muslin (hahhahahaha) b. a bathroom with half the size of a petite European shower.

3. a large one bedroom. perfect perfect size..... PROBLEMS?.... building smelt like a rotting horse sized rat.... its right across from the projects (and I'm talking this area was really street)... and did i mention that the apartment was broken into because the lock was jimmied and hanging off the hinges... my broker was just like- hum... that's odd. ( and i was like- get me the fuck outta here)

so whats a girl to do.... continue until i find the right apartment.... or until it kills me (more likely of the two options).

It all started when i woke up late for work. I got in 20 mins late. So once I was at work, I did a few errands, when my boss mentioned around 2pm she wanted me and the other intern jake to run a errand of going down to the factory and checking it out. She grabbed us a car and we headed over. Once there, we were showed around, and it was kinda crazy to see so many people sewing and assembling garments. Once we were done here, I needed to head back to the office because I worked until 6pm and Jake was done with his shift. I took off on the subway and stoped at Bedford... getting off to walk to the office. I was excited to work alone since noone would be in there. I keyed in the door and there was a little something waiting for me inside.

As I walked in I heard growling. I realized my boss had left her, on any other occasion, adorable wiener dog alone at the office. So I pulled back the curtain to see not so cute johnny growling at me. I tried to talk to him and tell him that it was OK... his mommy would be back soon. Then I decided since he was guarding the back office there was no way I could sit back there. So I decided I would just hang in the front. And that's what I did, until he started to bark wildly... then he stopped. But all of a sudden I heard tiny feet patterning toward me... I looked at the curtain and Johnny emerged barking and lunged at my leg. Luckily he had a weird angle and only caught my pants and not my skin. I panicked and backed away.... then he started to charge.. so i booked it towards the door. From the door... I could see the little shithead growling and jumping at me... it scared the shit outta me. I was safe outside.... BUT HOW WAS I GONNA DO ANY WORK!!???

I texted my boss and she said to go buy him some treats... I did that and it didn't work either. He just wasn't gonna have me in the office.

so i texted my boss and said I would wait till she got back from doing her taxes to get into the building.... i had left my computer and planner inside the office. She got back around 5:45... i sat and killed time in a pizza place on 7th and bedford. Once I got in the dog was fine... he didn't even react to me... so i looked crazy in front of my boss.

Now, I stayed longer at work to put in my time, and guess what.... they had to do a online blog or magazine interview... so i stayed tucked away in the corner so I would be outta sight. Just and i was creeping thinking I was good in the back they called me over to do a tiny cameo in the interview. I looked like such a doofus... I was nervous... had been attacked by a dog... and looked out right stupid. So I realized that I was a weirdo and I felt my body lingering a little too long... my boss looked at me and said ... you can go now. I felt so stupid.

then on my way home....

some pimp and his ho were on my train. they were nuts. she started to harass a man across from me and the pimp started to chat it up with me. The woman was nuts. she started to attack the man across from me! he wasn't having it. and then she screamed... Ill yell RAPE. ill rape you. and she started to push him. and attack him.. then she started to scream at him and call him some racist comments.

The pimp looked at me and was like, "man you never see none of my black women acting like that". He then started to talk to me about how the city was a bad place. I assumed he was high on some crazy something. I just was nice because I didn't want to be rude and maybe get myself into trouble with these two.

I was just praying for the train to stop so I could get off at 1st. Well the train started to come to a stop and I realized the couple was getting off there (GREAT THEY WERE GETTING OFF AT MY STOP OF ALL PLACES!). So I followed my gut and stayed on the train till 3rd ave. After all, its all about gut instinct. Once that couple got off the train... everyone was staring at me... so I busted out (because my face was hot, my heart was pounding, and I was happy nothing of mine got stolen, or i didn't get hurt) and said "that was CRAZY!" some woman with her son looked at me and was like

"oh girl, oh lord! i thought you were with them".

another sighed and said she was glad I wasn't with them.

another girl felt so uncomfortable she just smiled and said "yeah.. me too"

then I realized it. Nothing bothers new yorkers. this must have been a HUGE thing. I mean, it takes a real problem for anyone in new york to even mention anything on the subway. Were so use to pretending like it doesn't exist and looking forward like stones. But they were just as scared as i was....

and i said gut, thanks for making me stay on an extra stop and saving myself!

i have this friend of mine who really is always there for me. always. and i have only known her for 2.5 years.... and within a few months... we became the best of friends. and i knew she was the best person!

she never cancels on me.

she never doesn't have enough money to do anything with me.... even when she is flat broke

(she pays for her entire adult life) and still comes and visits me in new york (in may!)

she drove me to the doctors no matter what her commitments of the day were.... she even canceled going to work to do this for me.

she almost fainted when doctor bassett put 2 foot needles in my throat to drain my abscessed tonsil

she never calls to brag about her life...

she is genuine

she doesn't spread herself thin over different people who don't matter.... or make fake friend dates

she has never flaked out on me

she gets mad at me...and i want to strangle her! but we can make up

i spent 1 full month traveling with her... and i still wanted to hang out after we were separated

she never is too busy to talk to me on the phone...

she is so funny.... even when she tells the same stupid story 6,000 times.

she would go food shopping with me and we love the same exact food that we would just spilt the bill.

she has the best relationship advice.

i think i want to talk about myself for a little.

its just one of those mornings-when your tired but you wake up early- i woke up to the pounding of the pipes in my bathroom (i have no clue why 1. they are always so hot to the touch and 2. why constant pounding comes outta them...at the worst times i.e. when i am sleeping). I don't want to do homework... i thought i might go to the gym or take a shower... so i moved (slowly) to the bathroom, grabbed a towel, and then looked in the mirror and thought, "don't feel like washing my hair because ill have to blow dry style it". so i grabbed my towel and sauntered out to my room... only to sit on my bed and find facebook too boring. time to blog.

me last year: i can only think of davids pizza in spokane dipped in blue cheese dressing. yummy

5. me today: take a nap and forget about the day. this is the best thing ever...

me last year: take a nap to have the energy to go out and abuse my body 5 days in a row

6. me today: go out to eat.... have a Bellini and get tipsy... all to come home early and go to sleep

me last year: eat out and have a cheese platter, but go early

because i have to start to get ready to go out and i dont want to miss out on big blue bonding

7. me today: eat hot nacho cheese with a pretzel in the movie theater while seeing a movie alone. its one of the few movie foods that don't make any noise in the movie. no rustling. no squeaky sounds. silent dipping.

this is a list of tentative things i hope to do before i leave this weird life. *** i will and can adjust before i die.

1. tell someone i love them and mean it (more than 1 person please)

2. drive across America-coast to coast (making planned stops-crossroads style) with my best friends and fly home first class.

3. spend Christmas on a beach in a bathing suit with cold drinks

4. go to carnival in Brazil

5. buy & use an around the world plane ticket (first class style. learned my lesson backpacking in europe-not so glam)

6. go to a music festival in another country

7. go to Oktoberfest in Munich and drink

8. kiss someone i love in the rain

9. be a successful (enough to maintain and support my habits and this list!) designer with a runway show (maybe bryant park one day)

10. send my mom, jimmy, and my sister on a dream vacation at my expense

11. take risks and do things that i cant always afford- but know the memory is greater than the temporary debt

12. be debt free, happy, and able to do whatever I want when I want

13. never sell my soul to corporate America (how i define "selling my soul")

i think i would have left college screaming and crying if i would have known the real world was really this bad.

the things i miss the most about college are

1.drinking in the day

2.events focused around the sole purpose of drinking (BEER PONG TOURNAMENTS, around the world, the

3.living in a huge house named big blue with your best friends in the whole wide world (and having all your friends come over)

4.laughing with your best friends the morning after a crazy college drinking binge

5.my best friends laughing at me while i purge all my alcohol the next morning from an all night binge

6.when the sun comes out.... everyone has BBQS and we all love each other so much (the best

days every of sunny drinking and galloping with your friends).

7.sitting around for hours on end and doing NOTHING.... but more nothing

8.being around and near my best friends. (now i have to travel thousands of miles and spend

hundreds of dollars just to see them-not to mention my phone bill has been $100 over just from phone catch ups)

WHY CANT LIFE BE LIKE COLLEGE FOR OUR WHOLE LIVES?

its weird because the only way to ever recapture college days and the feelings is to go on a vacation. thats messed up to think about-college was a 4 year vacay.

the only thing that is getting me through this really hard time- is the fact that in May another batch of unknowing students will start to experience the same symptoms and feels of college withdrawls...... and entering the real world.

reasons i hate new york

1. bugs. i had a spider in my room the size of my fist... ok ok. so i was scared and it was prolly only the size of my nail but it seemed huge.

i hate bugs and animals in my room. worst part is NY has so many. but the scariest part is NY is fabled to have wolf sized mice and goat sized cockroaches.

i never want to see a mouse in my room or kitchen. i mean what do you do?

with a bug its either you or her.... and normally its me and ill squirt it with 409

but with a mouse/rat---- its a huge mammal. i mean... I'm a vegetarian. you cant just squash a mouse. they'll be blood and tiny bones. its just wrong. so what the hell do you do.... yikes.

2. cash only places: easy definition- they only accept cash. for Americans (and esp this American) that is so hard and annoying, I hate having cash on me because i don't like the thought of loosing it or getting robbed. Let me tell you how the best hair salon in the world-(of course its mine) ONLY TAKES CASH. ladies that means that your $200 hair cut and color must be in cash. that means i have to do my online shopping on the credit card. and that means-DEBT. (ps new york is so expensive to have your hair cut in see 6)

3. amount of dirty trash on the sidewalk. it has this smell that i define as a dirty baby. my old apartments basement smelt like it. it just smells like rotting cardboard and heat and.... blaaah.

4.in the summer- water dripping on your head from somewhere above and the prayer in your head that you hope it was someones AC.

5. how the hot water will run poop brown sometimes (they say its a problem with the lower east side- but not harmful--sick).

6. the cost of living. sure new york is awesome and it has so much- but if you cant afford it... its crap.

1.FASHION-this is by far the best city for fashion in the united states. forget LA its too casual and year round warm (boring-nothing chic-er than a fab winter ensemble). New York is the American girls mecca of couture and street fashion. its really the most refreshing thing in the world. I feel so inspired as a blossoming designer even walking down the street and seeing the variety of people and their personal style.

2. delivery- you can get anything delivered to your house. and in this day and age the Internet is what makes it smooth and amazing.

a. the best food every. and everything you can imagine. its like domino's pizza but with every type of food...at all hours of the night!! (most the time 10% off on the internet orders)

b. I HAD MY GROCERIES DELIVERED TO ME. that may seem weird or lazy... but here are the true facts. when your living in your suburban or even city area you normally take a car to get your food items. in new york you have to walk 5+ blocks to the store, buy the food, and the walk 5+ blocks home with all the heavy bags... (the metro isn't door service you know). forget bottled water flats and diet dr. pepper cases. BUT WITH DELIVERY THIS IS A DREAM. you get everything you want right to your door.

3. food. what ever your into... its here in new york and its authentic. I don't even eat taco bell that much anymore. who needs it- i have real Mexican or texmex right around the corner.

4. things to do/culture so much live music and art.. you can sometime feel like you aremissing out because there is so much to do.

5. good looking people. there is every type of good looking person here (MEN! MEN! suits, hippies, artists, musicians, black men-actually any and every race ever... frat boys, guys walking their dogs, etc.) they are everywhere. you don't have to "go out" to a bar to meet sexy/cool looking people. they are walking on the street next to you/towards you (sometimes even doing the side walk shuffle with you) or sitting in the seat next to you on the L to work. SO THE MAIN QUESTION IS... WHEN WILL I GET THE GUTS TO TALK TO THEM OR MAKE A DATE.

6. free things to do.. sometimes they will off comedy classes free or wine tasting in my apartment complex.. even a free furry outing (the people who get off wearing full sized animal suits) too bad being a fashion student i never have the time... i keep telling myself i will soon... soon

7. the 5 boroughs: manhattan (i live here) staten queens bronx brooklyn. each so diffrent... each magic to explore. (ive only been to brooklyn and manhattan --- once again once i get a life after fashion school--- its on)

love hate: sometimes is good...sometimes its bad

1. the weird randoms: for example the man who grabbed my arm and pulled me close and said kiss me you fool. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SEXY IF IT WASN'T creepy AND HE WASN'T A STRANGER.

2. cabs.. but not cabdrivers (that one that yelled at me so much i felt scared for my life (i instigated it a little seein i was a drunky)

3. the Ltrain- i love the route and the people-- but i hate how in the morning we are sardines (and of course that's the time when it runs slow because of traffic ahead of me)

4. love living in a huge apartment. but the buildings looks like all the 60 other surrounding ones in the area and they resemble the projects (no really it does).

5. living in an apartment where you can hear everything

(sometimes good)- the guy singing sweet child of mine in 2d (really funny and out of pitch)

not good the crazy kid running up stairs in 3C (it sounds like some scary movie where no one really lives above me but there are tiny feet pattering on the floor). his mom walking in heels on the wood floors - sometimes running after the kid in heels. and the constant hammering of god knows what.

first let me make a tiny disclaimer: 1. i cant spell (so if i mess up something im sorry). 2. i cant do math (my mom once slapped me for not know my multiplication when she was quizzing me on my 6 times tables. weeks/days later (see #3) i found out i was dyslexic-my mom never forgave herself for slapping me). 3. and finally, i dont know time and dates well.

so it all started when i found out that i finally got a single room in a new apartment. this confused alot of people i talked to because i didnt have time to explain. but what this means is that i am now in a new apartment that is identical to my old one. only its 6 streets down from my old apartment and i am in a room where i do not share with anyone else. Now, i know its been a while since we have been in dorms so we forgot the lingo... but i live the dorm lingo now.

double: one room, two beds, two girls, no separation. this was the room i had in the old apartment that i shared with another girl. Huyong. Now this gets tricky because Huyong didnt want me to have my privacy, wanted to talk to me before we went to bed, and was use to being with her 6,000 other sisters in one room. SO THIS SUCKED. until she realized the 1st week into being all moved in and settles in NY that this wasnt for her. SO she packed all her stuff and left. thats right she didnt even start school. SO I GOT THAT HUGE ROOM TO MYSELF. and for no extra cost. they never moved someone in until.....

over Christmas break i got a gift from parsons housing on the 23rd of December. a email that said clean yo shit you get a new roommate to share a room and have no privacy and no happiness. (well duh-it says in the title i over exaggerate - but that was only a little thats the crazy part). so then parson wanted me to fly back from vegas and clean my room as soon as possible. i hate cleaning... and jesus hell no im not flying back the day after to clean my room. so i wrote them that (and that i would fly home on the 14th of Jan)! then complained and asked for a single.

single: a room all to your own with a door that shuts and you can get peace and quiet/watch family guy/play the biggies juicy as loud as you want and as late as you want.

so i got the single!!! but one catch- had to move on Friday the 16th. that gave me one day to move all my stuff. (I'm a crap collector) i had to call my sister and beg her to catch the next flight to help me move. I persuaded her by promising that ill buy her 4 cheese gnocchi at our fav restaurant her in NYC-PIOLA. **one catch the flight left in 1 and 30 minutes meaning she had to pack in 10 and find a way to the airport in 5.

DID SHE MAKE IT??? of course... were just crazy like that.

so michelle helped me move. and here it comes...

when i was moving all my mary gotlieb sewing (she was my sewing teacher)- a pin or sewing needle feel on the ground and i steeped on it and it some how dug its way into my foot so deep

so it hurt to walk ---really bad --- (and i had crutches like a stupid-harder than they look to walk on)

so i went to the ER at beth isreal. and they tried to get it out(numbing my foot that was done with a huge needle, and then cutting it with a scalpel- and YES i could still feel it)-they could see the needle shard but couldnt get it. so they told me to see a surgeon to get it removed

but it was the weekend so there were no surgeons available.

i went to another ER at st. Vincents (cab ride $12 + $2 tip) the next day to see if a surgeon would see me. they did a x ray on it... and the needle disappeared.

itsnt it weird! and it hurt/hurt so bad... that needle went so deep in- and i have steeped on them b4- but this just shoved its way all up into my grill

im so annoyed and i live in ny so i walk everywhere. so now i can hardly go out. and when i do my foot hurts so bad i have to hobble/limp like a fat person with sore kankles.

and then it was gone-but not the pain that we think was from the first er scalpel cut. i think it was because i prayed long and hard to mary. and im not Churchy religious but i like to pray.. and it was a miracle....

but it all ended with me on the bed with the bitchy doctor in the ER getting a tetanus shot. i hate shots (lacie knows it-i mean she saw 2 huge shot being shoved in my mouth) . the end
